I'm not sure what the hype is about.

daughter received as a gift - they are very wide, so if your child has thin legs, it is better to try them on before buying. This is a very cheap material - it's ridiculous how expensive they are - I expect they will scratch and tear very quickly after a break run. It's probably better to buy a cheaper brand; It's probably the same stuff for a fraction of the cost anyway.
