This is a 'keeper' but not for travel as I am disabled this item would be too heavy for me to carry around and the size would also be inconvenient. Now for the good. It is made of heavy material inside and out. There are storage pockets on all four sides, two of them with zippers. The large zippered pocket holds 15 hooks and the large pocket has two smaller pockets. It has a full zip at the top with holes through which six balls of yarn can be threaded. There is a slotted opening to slip your project into the bag as it connects to the yarn running through the sleeves. At the top is a long, narrow zippered pocket for knitting needles. Inside the box there are six compartments for thread, which is fed through the eyelets. The lower part of these sections is open, that is, not attached to the bottom of the box. There is space for a book or a drawing. The designer of this item must have been a craftsman as he/she has thought of everything and yes it stands alone even when empty. Oh, it comes with a shoulder strap. Only time will test his strength.
