I bought this after several unsuccessful attempts to use other saddle stools. I love that I can just have it in my office and use it all day. It just sits on the chair without being attached in any way, creating the effect of a balancing ball. It also comes with a notched hard base for use on really soft chairs. I have a mesh chair so I used the seat over the base first. However, it seemed a bit unstable to me, there were too many sliding layers and it was difficult to set up. Currently I only use it without the chair base. He sinks into the seat a little more than he should, so sitting and balancing is a little less active, but that seems normal to me. In general I like it very much. It's expensive for what it is, but I feel like it's a lot more durable than saddle stools at the same price, and it's less of an all-day commitment! Also, I can take it home from the office and use it when I'm working remotely.
