Decent padding on top and bottom, but the seams around the computer and especially the corners are NOT padded. This is not an isolated case as several different designs are embroidered in the same way, 0 foam around the edge. I would NOT recommend buying. What I like is that the pockets on this one feel functional and purposeful. A good size for power supplies, a mouse, a phone and maybe even a small mouse pad. Unfortunately, this is a heavy product that doesn't really protect the computer from 360 degrees of potential "abuse".
