I think tripods are the most important part of my gear and I have five of them. 2 - Shirui, my second is the greatest. I bought this one because of the quality of the large tripod. This tripod is strong enough that I can use it with the Sony 200-600 zoom and still get the support I need to get sharp shots. It extends high enough that I don't have to kneel down to see through the viewfinder, and even when fully extended it's surprisingly durable. I was willing to buy another head for it and when I first used it I almost took it, but the hesitation I felt was due to the QR mechanism being improperly seated at the factory. Using the provided hex keys, I removed and reinstalled the QR to solve the problem. The ball sits firmly, moves smoothly and is very well made with very good machining accuracy. The case is good but I won't be using it much. When folded it easily clips to the side of my backpack and especially considering how durable it is the weight is very reasonable.
