I'm writing this review in the summer now, so the soup is almost never cooked on the stove. But I have ice tea. I decided to try Fred's chicken tea. The picture shows the chicken in my teapot and you can see it is brewing well. (Yes, it looks a bit ugly, but believe me, it's tea.) Brewing the bird with tea leaves was a bit tricky, but I filled it about 2/3 full with tea leaves, placed in a pot and shut it down. in the fridge for cold brewing. It worked just as well as tea bags, but was more fun. It's nice to have something reusable and know I don't have to constantly buy tea bags to make iced tea. Cleaning: The head is easily removable and I was able to wash it with some soapy water. It took a bit of pushing and tapping to get the tea leaves out of the body, but they came out easier than I expected, then rinsing the body with soap and water was enough. I put the bird in the dishwasher to air dry. Sliding a towel through the small hole would be next to impossible. Usage: A few small pieces of tea came out during the brewing process, but this was minimal and you can see them in the photo. I can't vouch for chicken in hot liquids, but it works well cold so I don't expect any problems. The body is long enough for bay leaves and short pieces of rosemary or other woody herbs. Bring fun into your kitchen.
