I think I understand why people struggle with this. The wire cover is held with a band around it to keep it on the wires. This puts stress on the wires themselves. It does 1 of 2 things. He can either pull the connectors off the circuit board or slide the cable cover down so the cables rub against the sharp edges of the case inside. Both scenarios will fail. To fix this I raised the wire cover in the case as it should and then used Permatex Right Stuff to close the wire hole and support the weight of the wires and wire cover. I then used fabric harness tape on the exposed ends of the wires to secure the wire cover to the wires. Now the wire cover and case body fully support the wires and prevent them from being damaged. This is a simple fix that should keep the wires intact and the speedometer working properly.
