Update: Completely dead. The light became very dim. It flickered and then eventually stopped working. Initially this product worked great. I had no issues with the motion/light sensor and it turns on when it's supposed to. Three AA batteries are required and the product's battery life is good. I changed the batteries after three months, not because they were dead, but because I was trying to diagnose another problem detailed below. The light has several different modes that you can use to select one color or cycle through all colors. You can also adjust the brightness of the light. I saved a setting that allows you to rotate the colors of the light. I recently noticed that the light sometimes turns black as it changes color. I thought it was because the batteries were starting to die. I changed the batteries and found the same thing happened. Then, as I recalled part of the color sequence, I noticed that the red light was no longer lit. So this colored LED is dead. I switched it to a solid color so the light doesn't go on and off. A little crap after three months of use.
