I try to avoid all artificial colors, preservatives and flavors in my products. I'm not always perfect and I love to try junk food every now and then. I have much more control over what I feed my animals. I'm not worried about the cost as I think it's very important to do whatever we can to help them. I checked all the ingredients in the Adirondack Chicken Meal & Brown Rice recipe and found nothing suspicious. I'm not crazy about things like rosemary extract, but I don't see it in the ingredients. I just don't care. The protein content is quite high at 25%. So if any of my dogs were older I would consider leaving them out as it can put a strain on the kidneys. Both of my dogs are active adults and need extra protein, one more than the other. It is a food for puppies and/or working dogs. Wieser isn't a puppy, but she's a performer in her own way. She was my taster and loves this food. If desired it can probably be used for training as the food isn't great. Needless to say, he was a winner in this house. The food is homegrown and prepared in a facility in the United States (Ohio). This is a high quality, balanced dog food that I would trust to feed my dogs.
