Review on DiCAPac Waterproof Nikon D3000 Underwater by Brian Olson

Inexpensive protection for your DSLR

Great price! Now I feel safe taking my D5000 in a kayak. Here are some of my experiences: Before you put your camera in your bag, you need to remove the strap from the camera body as it moves and gets in the way of the buttons or the display. Make sure you use flash-free modes as the built-in pop-up may not fully expand and will dissipate in your pocket. I find that a physically longer lens (55-200 zoom vs. 28-80 zoom) helps keep the lens cap from rocking. around and trim the edge of the pattern. You must leave enough space in the lens cap for autofocus to work. In this case I haven't managed to zoom in with my D5000 yet, although there is finger access to this area. Put a polishing cloth in an airtight plastic bag to wipe off any spills from the lens cap. The transparent lens cap is far enough away from the camera lens that dirt is more visible than you might expect. DO NOT open the lens cover to gain access to the camera lens itself while taking a photo, as this will at least lead to excess moisture. This will lead to fogging if not exposed to liquid. Store the silica gel in the case, and when you get home, leave the case open and remove the lens cap.
