We bought this just before a 20 day international trip to 5 European countries. We evaluated both the enhanced calling packages and this device and chose them. Overall our experience was very good. We could connect to Wi-Fi in any country. Using GPS to get driving (and walking) directions, emailing, staying in touch with work and posting updates for our family to see our ride has been invaluable. The device seemed able to easily handle 8 hours of fairly continuous use, and the backup battery helped keep my phone charged. With both of our phones, we were able to send text messages and make calls via WiFi. This allowed us to use our phones without roaming charges. Highly recommended for international travel. Here's something else you should know:* Your phone can use up data quickly. In 20 days I used a total of 4GB of data (and that's only because I was much better at saving data after the first week). Even then, we've easily been using 100MB an hour for the past few days. Check your phone settings before using the device to save data and turn it off when not in use. So it depends on the same signal availability as the phone. During our journey we encountered many blind spots. But we found that this device provides more reliable and faster WiFi than a boat during a 7 day river cruise.
