My HP 3830 printer uses HP 63 ink. At first I thought I couldn't use a refilled cartridge because when I went into the printer software application and printed it there it was printed, but not printed from my programs. I've just started getting half printed pages when I refilled and wasn't warned that I was out of ink. It was a bit difficult to get the .63 cartridge into the holder, I was afraid that if I pushed it further it would break, but it held. I have never received a warning to bypass HP and print with a refilled cartridge. I only had printer errors saying my printer needs to be checked, but no messages on the printer. I ended up doing a hard reset and it worked as usual. I'm so happy I don't have to buy expensive HP ink cartridges that barely last when I print infrequently, and I'm more eco-friendly! I'll update if I have any problems, which I always do.
