Review on Effortlessly Create Rich Soil With F2C'S 80 Gallon Garden Compost Bin - BPA-Free, Aerating, And Easy To Assemble! by Jeremy Reddick

Works great in my review

I purchased this compost bin for ease of access to by other family members. To encourage them to composting everything! I have never used a bin before, my current compost pile is set at the back of the yard . I’ve always just had a pile. I’ve recently put up some pallet walls to define the space, but it’s still just a pile. Pile works great. This bin however is set on the side of a deck in the back yard to be easily accessible to family members to use. I am the only gardener of the house, and I am always encouraging family to add to the pile. I set the bin close, and added a pull string to open the lid from the deck to make it easier to add stuff. Water is added in small amounts each time a pail is dumped in, rinsing out the pail. The bin prevents pest from foraging easily and keeps smells in. I add "browns” like paper, cardboard, and leaves, on top of the mostly greens that are added by family. This keeps smells down. I was worried it would be too hot since it sits mostly in full sun. But so far so good. I haven’t used the removable door on the front, as I empty the bin often to add to my main pile to finish. I just lift it up and set it to the side. I then fork the contents to my wheelbarrow for transport. That said, it’s lightweight enough to lift off. It’s sturdy and easy to assemble, and does not blow away so long as there is something in it. I would recommend some sort of stake to anchor it if it was not protected by a wind break, or full.I empty it at least once a month, and the bottom of the compost has already started to breakdown, so it does work well.I would recommend this to anyone wanting to start composting. It would work great in small yards. It looks nice and keeps it neat.

Pros
  • Easy to assemble, simple compost bin.
Cons
  • The bin is not odor-free, and strong smells can attract unwanted pests

This is the *perfect* replacement for the nasty, smelly old compost pile my husband set up! I am including an embarrassing picture of the old wire thing for comparison. Fits discreetly under the deck stairs, so it''s not in the way of the lawnmower. The lower door to access the compost is really convenient. Was super easy to put together, took me less then 2 minutes. I am SO SO SO happy to have this eye-sore cleaned up, I can''t even
