These were exactly what I was looking for to match TSA measurement standards so I never had any surprises with the more strict TSA staff. These bags have the same dimensions as a quart-sized ziploc, but I could fit in at least four or five more bottles plus a few more smaller things (like lip gloss tubes) compared to what I'd crammed into a bulging bag. My only complaint is that the plastic has a lot of friction to it, so sliding things in and out can sometimes feel a little sticky (the best example I can give is the feeling of slightly wet nail polish rubbing against plastic). It's really no big deal and worth the extra space. There was no plastic smell so I was able to use these without issue right from the box.
