They are more comfortable than silicone. I use them to keep my mallet fingers from "tapping" so much. Without it, the TOP of my toes would touch the ground, or my shoes and nails would be badly injured. I did have a fungus on my toenail but the doctor said no it was just an injury due to the position of the toe. I'm trying to delay the surgery and it's helping.
