Review on Moen YB2224ORB Brantford 24 Inch Bathroom by Bill Ramani

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks good but has imperfections

I have purchased several of these towel rails to match the Moen Brantford style faucets we recently installed. They look good and definitely match the faucets, but there are two things I don't like about them. First, the installation requires you to attach the end pieces to a plastic anchor screwed into the wall, but of the 7 separate end pieces I installed, only one snapped properly. The other six were pushed down with brute force and will hopefully hold up. In my opinion, this type of construction is unnecessarily complicated. The second issue is that the center bar is a separate piece which means it doesn't snap into place but is free to rotate once inserted into the two end pieces. This means when you pull a towel off the towel rail, the rod rotates, which in turn causes other towels to slide off (there's a clinking noise too). I ended up filling the end pieces with clear grout before inserting the center rod so the rod would snap into place after the grout dried. It worked very well, but first of all, it makes you question the poor design.
