I have had felt feet since childhood, which means my feet have never had an arch. My footprints in the sand are shaped like a U. Over the years I have tried custom made insoles but they never fit me comfortably or gave me the support I needed so I stopped wearing supportive shoes. I now have mild arthritis in my feet and need to wear proper shoes. After lots of research on stability, deep cups and all sorts of leg terminology, I decided to give them a try. These shoes have relieved pain in the upper area of the foot and properly aligned my ankles when walking. They also reduced the pigeon toe walk I usually do due to flat feet. The deep heel cup hugs the heel securely and prevents slipping. I can feel the difference when I put my shoes on. I highly recommend this shoe if you have very flat feet. If you have not previously worn supportive shoes, put them on briefly so that you can get used to the new foot position. If you occasionally wear wide shoes, as many people with flat feet do, I recommend ordering wide shoes. It is not spacious, wide and very comfortable.
