This is the perfect way to get our older Golden Retriever into our crossovers - she can jump in and out easily but as a precaution we opted for a ramp - but as per previous reviews mentioned, we made a small adjustment: I removed the sandpaper material, which is supposed to be non-slip (which it probably is, but it will also wear down dog pads so badly it's completely self-destructing!), and replaced it with artificial grass. I've used double sided fiberglass carpet tape for both indoor and outdoor use and it works great! Since we have a lawn in our backyard (we live in dry California), she didn't even hesitate to climb the ramp. I just want Solvit to use a textured carpet or turf as the surface of the ramp instead of sandpaper. As an extra tip, if you replace the bottom of the ramp with any material, make sure you leave a little extra to overlap the hinge so there isn't a gap when the ramp is in the open position.
