These cord closures work well. They are comfortable, stay in place and retain their tension even after exposure to high temperatures (drying). I have replaced all the locks/switches on my mask with these. They are easy to apply and no needle is needed. All you really need is a piece of string to wrap the rubber band and thread the ends of the string through the lock. The rubber band needs to go through the larger hole first, and then slowly pull the rubber band all the way through the smaller hole.
