Choose one size up if you have a wide waist
So personally I love these shorts. I might buy another pair in a different color! However, like other reviewers, I find the belt a bit tight. Luckily my waist is smaller compared to my hips. If you have more weight around your waist or prefer to wear shorts on your hips, be sure to go up a size. For reference, I have a 30.5 waist and the large size fits perfectly.
