Review on 📚 Enhance Language Skills: Experience Mandarin & Pinyin with Our Interactive Chinese Sound Book & Board Book for Kids Vol. 2 by Kevin Kimbrough

This is the second book after the first Peipei Music Book and we are so glad we bought this book! The house helped maintain our daughter's interest in Chinese songs. (Also, wouldn't you want your child to see and learn from a lot of bilingual books?!). With a mother (native speaker) and father (3rd generation American Chinese), this book helped grandparents learn Chinese tunes with our daughter. Now that Grandpa is more interested in learning Chinese, the whole family sings fun songs while playing, and our daughter is in love. It was so great to see their grandparents take more of an interest in their language learning thanks to this book! I reviewed the first book (which I highly recommend!) and pointed out three things I love about the book that also apply to this one. But I thought it would be nice to include more details on why my family loves the second book. Mix of songs in English translation and children's songs. If you grew up in a Chinese-speaking family, you can take some of these songs back to your childhood memories. I quickly recalled the days of my childhood when my mother and grandmother sang these songs to me and now they can do the same to my daughter. I like that the author includes songs that have been preserved in my family from generation to generation. As a Chinese American, I also have pinyin and English translations (and Peipei's voice) that help me understand the story of the song and pronounce it correctly. If you are lucky and know it in Chinese? It was wonderful. I sing this song 10 times a day in English with my daughter (because she loves all the moves), but with this book, my grandparents and I can sing it in Chinese! (Actually, Peipei sings it perfectly from the book.) I love that I can now mix it with another language so my daughter can hear both versions from her grandparents and me. Songs that promote family time. I love that the songs have a mix of a happy kid and especially those that emphasize the importance of family. I just love that it inspires us as a family to sit together and enjoy each other's presence. We flipped these songs at family gatherings and bedtime games because not only does she love hearing Peibei sing, but we also sing and dance along to the tunes. It was so cute! I could talk endlessly about Peipei's work, but I am truly grateful for the time and effort she put into this book to ensure my child has a bilingual environment where family members are engaged and learning together. I 100% recommend her books and look forward to buying more from her! Thank you Peipei!
