For years I cursed the original shock I got from Blue when I ordered my Yeti Pro. It always dangled and was a complete design flaw for a mic of the Yeti Pro's size and weight. Eventually I broke down and was looking for a replacement, which led me to the Auphonix Pro mount. It arrived today and I was happy to take the blue off and throw it in the bin. This one is much smaller and lighter. Blue is big and very solid but too heavy, poorly designed but its matte chrome finish made it a beautiful device. Installing Auphonix was a breeze. Everything came together as expected. I held the threaded bolt on my arrow with pliers and tightened the knurled bushings with another pair and it's tight and secure. Finger tightening failed. He unscrews himself from moving. Some blue Loctite would also be a good idea. My mic is at a 90Β° angle to the stand, so it takes some muscle strength to get the thumbscrew neat and snug to keep it from sagging. I think some kind of washer might be a good idea. So far there are no problems. I only got it today so haven't had a chance to actually use it but it just hangs there which seems to be working fine. Happy liberation, blue mount!
