Because I use my Wacom much more than the numeric keypad on my full-size keyboard, I've decided to switch to a keyboard without in conjunction with this numeric keypad switch to the numeric keypad. While this gave me the much-desired closer distance from the new keyboard to my Wacom, it resulted in a loss of typing skills. While I found no loss of functionality in MS Excel, I found a delayed action in MS Word and a complete loss of functionality in Snagit. Obviously using two USB devices (at least on Windows 7) in combination (the ALT key on the keyboard and the number keys on the keyboard) is problematic. The good news, however, is that I was able to use the macro assignments on the new keyboard to get my expanded character set.
