Review on πŸ’‘ Feit Electric BR40DM 10KLED 65W Equivalent: Energy-Efficient Lighting Solution for Brilliant Illumination by James Grindberg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good, but be careful!

FEIT specifications CLAIM their energy efficient BR40DM LED with 850 lumens, equivalent to a 65W incandescent lamp; this statement is NOT true. These mislabeled bulbs are actually 85W bulbs, which equates to 1100 lumens (note that they draw 13W, which is the power consumption of real 85W LED bulbs; a real 65W equivalent draws 11W ). But those mislabeled FEIT bulbs work great with a dimmer (and you might like the extra brightness). This mislabeling of the 65W PAR-B/R40 LED equivalent is common with other brands. If you really want true 65W / 11W / 850 lumens. Consider buying the BR30 size, which corresponds to the real output of 65W / 11W / 850 lumens. Just note that the B/R30 is slightly smaller in diameter and length, but will work great with your B/R40 device.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
