Not working for Apple CarPlay/Data

Not working for data connection to my car (2020 Hyundai Kona), only works for charging (package says it works for data), cable seems pretty solid but well thought out it would be thicker/harder not sure how long it will last with repeated use. I got it for my car for easy storage when I'm not using Apple CarPlay, but since that didn't work I just left it in the car with no data on a second USB port for extra charging.
