My daughter uses it as an active stylus for her iPad with many apps designed for Apple Pencil and it works great. She loves it, having previously lost her real Apple Pencil. So in comparison it works perfectly and well. We didn't use a voice recorder so I can't comment on that usage. With frequent use, we charge it about every 3 days. The modes are easy to figure out with the instructions and flashing lights. Very happy with it. We keep it in the box so we don't lose this one. It uses USB-C and comes with a cable, but it's short. So consider if you already have a longer one or if you need to buy one.
