I've only had them for a few days so I can't comment on durability yet. I have a little swelling in my ankles, more on the left than on the right. I have worn calf to knee compression stockings for a long time, but they only push fluid to my knees and cause pain in my knees. Bought this product as well as a pair of high hips. This product is much better for me than high hips. High berets rolled down, forming a confining strip. This product slides down like women's pantyhose, so you need to make adjustments from time to time. Overall very comfortable with good compression. Size XL is just right for me with 40" waist, 18" calf and 11.5" ankle. As a nurse they are of much better quality than the regular TED tubes found in hospitals. I recommend them anyone who has a slight accumulation of fluid in the lower legs
