We were looking for DVRs that didn't require fiddling with hotspots or being a rocket scientist. It's so simple it's funny. Just plug it into the accessory port and you're done. You can also turn off the screen so it doesn't distract you. It's that simple, just plug it in and start recording. How much easier can it be? Love the fact that it works with an SD card (and gets an extreme SD card since you're in a moving vehicle) and automatically saves the video if a collision occurs. This is a safety feature I'm really excited about as you probably won't be able to think straight if you get into an accident. I would highly recommend this dashcam to anyone looking for a reliable and easy way to protect themselves from crazy drivers. Well, it doesn't exactly protect you from them, unless it can fire electrical pulses to disable their machines when they get close to you. but at least you have a record of them causing the crash. You can't beat the price and it also comes with a rear camera. You can't go wrong with this DVR. Personally, that would come in very handy when I was driving to New York and the tractor trailer driver was intentionally trying to kill me. It was about 5 a.m., there was no one on the street. Suddenly he was behind me and I really thought he was having a heart attack or a stroke, he was so close to me. I slammed on the brakes but didn't collapse, thinking it might wake him up or yank him off my rear bumper. Do not go. I accelerated a little and he accelerated and almost hit me from behind as he pulled to the left. I thought he was just tired, but once he was two-thirds away from me, he turned the steering wheel to the right and his trailer nearly took my car completely. It is clear that this was intentional on his part. This man was crazy and I was so overwhelmed by what had just happened that I didn't have time to get my license plate. I was too busy fixing my car to stay on the road. If I had a cell that would be a moot point and he would be in jail right now. So get one of these and use it!
