First of all, my cat LOVES VitalCat food. This is a 20 pound orange tabby. I originally started buying VitalCat Essentials Rabbit & Turkey 6 months ago. When I first started purchasing this product I was really impressed with the limited ingredients and lack of synthetic vitamins, minerals or amino acids. Amazing right? The original ingredients were: turkey, turkey liver, turkey heart, goat milk, water, herring oil, mixed tocopherols (a natural preservative) D-alpha tocopherol (a natural source of vitamin E). Now the ingredients do not contain goat's milk and have added a complex of amino acids zinc, iron, copper and manganese. My issue is that in true raw form, none of these minerals need to be added unless the product is denatured, which requires them to be added back to the vitamins A and D in order for the milk to contain the vitamins A and D. Vitamin and mineral supplements always warn against taking iron supplements unless the person has been shown to be iron deficient by a blood test, as taking iron supplements is dangerous if not deficient. We have more illnesses and more vet visits for unknown diseases than ever before in recorded history due to poor diets and packaged foods high in grains and additives. Hills Science Diet, a leading vet-recommended brand, has filed numerous class-action lawsuits over a 2019 vitamin D overdose that led to the recall of over 25 different varieties of Hill's Science Diet food because many animals became ill, including dozens, who died from a vitamin D overdose So the point is, why change a product that was perfect from the start unless it's denatured, just like packaged, store-bought foods? All store-bought and prescription foods have a long list of grains and synthetic vitamins, minerals, and amino acids added to them. Please change your product to the more natural product I purchased and please stop adding synthetic minerals.
