Review on πŸ” Premium Quality Genuine Leather Ratchet Automatic Buckle: Unparalleled Style and Convenience by Brett Tierney

Looks good but buckle feels cheap and falls off easily

I have had a similar Mission ratchet strap for over 4 years. I found this at an outfitter while on vacation and used it almost every day until recently the belt itself (the belt, not the buckle) started to show signs of wear. I really liked this strap and came across it while looking for a suitable replacement. I chose this belt because it is a similar style but cheaper. And most of the reviews were positive. At first everything seemed fine. I love that it came in one size - tailored to size. The ratcheting mechanism also worked perfectly. And it looked beautiful. But the buckle started falling off fairly regularly when I removed the strap. This was a minor annoyance at first, but ended up scratching the buckle when dropped on hard ground. I could expect it to crash several times a week no matter how careful I am. I fiddled with the mechanism and even cut the strap to reattach the buckle to the new location, but the problem only got worse. The final drop was that the buckle actually fell into the urinal - phew! That night I threw away the buckle that came with this product and attached my trusty old Mission buckle (which fits and works perfectly with this belt). The Mission buckle will not fall off this belt. Now I'm happy enough - with this modification I will ride a lot of this product. But if you're looking for a decent new ratchet strap, I'd recommend spending a little more to ensure you're getting a better quality buckle.
