The picture is not 1080p but it has a good resolution that allows me to see my child clearly day and night. I think the biggest downside is that it's manual tilt compared to being able to pan from the control box. As long as you place it far enough away to get the full picture and your child doesn't touch it, you're fine. It's nice to have your controls right on the base unit instead of scrolling through the software on the base unit. I don't have any additional cameras but I can see how split screen can be very useful on the same basis. I like it when I can listen and talk to my child. It has enough range to reach anywhere in the house, even the basement, and that's the top floor. The battery lasts a long time, which is a big plus.
