In constant use for a year

I use it every day. It's connected to my Surface, which I turn on and off every day. This is not a 24/7 operation. I've read some reviews about it stopping working and people losing their data if they run it again. I was concerned so I backed up my data to my laptop and to this drive just in case. But I've had it for a year now and no problems so far. Just last week, when I turned on the laptop, I received a message about error fixing the operating system on the hard drive. I let him finish and couldn't see my CD anymore. I turned off the laptop, removed the drive, and turned it back on. I used the same USB port but the drive was still not recognized. I plugged it back into a different USB port and the OS found it again. Now I didn't have this problem anymore, but I didn't try another USB stick again for fear of a malfunction. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," so I'm leaving it alone for now. If this happens again I will definitely update this review. I just need to know I haven't had a problem for a year and a few months, I think that's a great sign so I will continue to support the product and keep you posted. * 05/06/2020 - In the last month the connection keeps dropping. It looks like it's a USB cable, but I don't have another to test the theory. Same when connecting to different USB ports. sometimes it works without problems when it reconnects, but sometimes it gives me "OS Fix Error". If I replace the cable I will update again. But for now I'll leave it disabled until I really need some info, then safely delete it. I don't want his constant loss of connection ruining the drive. * September 1st, 2020 - This is how it went on. I wouldn't even come close if it just disconnected and reconnected. Or disconnect and never reconnect. So I decided to buy a new USB cable. For the most part, this has alleviated the problem. He will do it again if I exercise moderately. I think the inner connection is too weak. But that is now a very rare case. Eventually I'll physically tighten it, but I'm done for now. After that no further updates.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
