Great monitor. There may not be built-in speakers, but most importantly there is an audio output on the back (3.5mm for headphones or connection to a stereo - with cable - 1 end 3.5, the other end RCA - right and left ) [Red White ]). Or just take a Logitech stereo and plug a 3.5mm cable and jack into it (I have an HDMI cable from the PC to this one), long story. But I wouldn't use the VGA/D-Sub input with this approach; VGA cables can only transmit video without audio; although there are ways to get sound with VGA through a PC with a 3.5 mm cable; I have done for the last 15 years. The VGA (Video Graphics Array) connector is set.
