As a teenager in the 90's I've had a lot of black lights over the years. Even cheap light bulbs that can be screwed into any lamp. This is the best I have found and the price is amazing. First, it has some weight. It's not too heavy, once installed it can fall off the wall and yes you can install it. There are even two of these which my husband dubbed "plasterboard beams" although he said he had never seen the style before. Maybe something abroad? But it is definitely doable. It has a handle so you can carry it around to light up specific things if you don't want that as the cord is a good length. It will easily brighten up any room, and I'd bet outdoors too. I definitely plan to use it for Halloween decorations. Although it gets hot (all blacklights), it has ventilation louvers on the back to help airflow. The metal handle didn't get hot, but I still would NOT leave it around children. The handle also feels stiff so you have to pull really hard when attaching it to get it moving (if that makes sense). With the quarantine, small things can really stimulate children's imaginations, so I gave my children the magic of "black light" We made stars shine in the dark and decorated the ceiling, under their bunk beds, everywhere. Then we turned it on. We also found an old Tinkerbell sticker on the door that we had no idea about. Daughter got sunburned and We could see small patches on her neck where it could start to peel off. I'm not sure if that's medically accurate, but it's weird. Of course, keep in mind that every stain you ever clean will show up on the carpet. lol. It could also come in handy if you are looking for places with pets or children. As for that black light, it was amazingly powerful! A detail, perfection!
