I'm an avid amateur photographer who travels a lot (I love travel photography!) and I carry both a professional camera and a smaller camera with me everywhere. Over the years I've used various professional and point-and-shoot cameras for quick and easy shots, or as a backup camera when I don't want to carry my larger and bulkier (and much more expensive!) camera around. . I've never been disappointed with a Canon camera I've had in the past and this one hasn't disappointed either. I have owned 3 Canon Powershot cameras over the years and this one is amazing and by far the best. It is very easy to use and has simple and easy controls (no fuss). So far it's been very easy and reliable to use for pretty much everything from travel photos, to zoom shots, simple portrait shots and even the occasional macro shot. The automatic shooting modes are very reliable for most shots and I was impressed with the quick focus and sharpness of the images. I was surprised to like the Creative Shot feature which gives you about 5 or 6 camera edited images of the same shot. Sometimes you can get really awesome unexpected photos this way. The flash is very "convenient to use" and will not fire until the flash pop-up button is pressed. This is an improvement over some other cameras I've used in the past, where you have to stop and change your camera settings every time you want to take a picture in a darker or shaded area without the flash. Connecting to my iPhone was also very easy. I can view all the photos on the camera on my phone, select the ones I want to wirelessly download to my phone (or my computer), and control the camera remotely with my iPhone. I was blown away by the functionality, ease of use and image quality of this camera. Another success for Canon in the compact camera world.
