Review on Avana Orthopedic Support Comfort Complete by Christina Potter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish I had had this many years ago!

Perfect for my needs. Support on the firmer side with a slight surface softness. My old "pile of pillows" method always fell apart overnight, leaving me waking up flat with GERD issues. No longer! It's like having a favorite chair in my bed. I appreciate how it adjusts, but it stays where you leave it. Also good for my moderate back pain due to moderate arthritis. Usage Notes: 1) Make sure you try to flip the small bottom piece to either side. It looks square at first glance, but it's actually at a different angle/tilt to each side, so it changes how the bulk is and where the lumbar support meets you. I find that the longer side down on the bed is better for sleeping and the longer side towards the headboard is better for sitting. (The main Revain photo shows the bed with the longer side down.) 2) Also try rotating the larger part in comma shape. I find that one direction is better for sitting and the other for sleeping. 3) The pillow roll gives me mixed feelings depending on whether I'm awake or asleep. If I sit very straight when working with the laptop, I like that. But I find that the firmness my back enjoys in other parts of this system is less appreciated by my side-sleeping face on this pillow. If the roll doesn't suit you at certain angles, you can just use your own pillow. If you want it to stay in place (I agree with other reviewers who say this part doesn't stay put), buy a yard of elastic and attach/sew it to each end to create your own strap. Easy.4) Turning the knee roll is also interesting. Try it. 5) For perfect lumbar support, try moving the body up or down in about 6 inch increments. Each step changes the experience and your patience will likely be rewarded. I personally liked them all and the only problem was deciding which one to go for 6) Nice surprise: the label says it's really made in the USA! All in all, this thing is a winner!
