Review on 🍨 SUMO Ice Cream Containers - Reusable 1.5 Quart Tubs with Lids for Homemade Ice Cream (2 Containers, Blue) by Pamela Beatty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Holds a full batch of 4 base cups

Except for the brand name on the lid, this 1.5 liter sumo sundae cup is identical to the tovolo I bought at the same time. I love them both - and two is a good number to have on hand, especially if you like having multiple flavors in your fridge. Aside from the brand, another difference between the two is that Sumo claims it's dishwasher safe, while Tovolo says it's not; I find this odd as the materials, texture and construction seem to be the same. The pan measures 11 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 4.25 inches high, and while it won't fit in every freezer door or "packed" freezer, it's an efficient use of bin space. When I first received this tub I was afraid it would be too small for the contents of my Cuisinart ICE-100 supercharged machine. It's not like this. He is perfect. Although it looks small, it actually holds 1.5 liters of ice cream from about 4 cups. Bottom. The container can be dismantled by hand for easy cleaning and washing; I haven't tried putting it in the dishwasher. An insulating layer between the outer and inner container prevents the ice cream from melting quickly when it comes out of the container. Freezer, and this is important when the long mold potentially exposes a wide range of ambient temperatures. I put mine in the freezer a couple of hours before stirring to give me extra time when pouring freshly frozen ice cream into the container. the lid won't snap even though it's d Oh, stay. I love that I can run a KitchenAid spoon over the surface to form a nice ball of ice cream. – Debbie Lee Wesselman
