When this bed first arrived I caught myself at how beautiful it was. Of course, it helps that the color matches my cat (and not for nothing also my furniture). But when I first set up the bed, he didn't want anything to do with it. I moved the bed from room to room putting his treats and toys in it but he just stuck his head in that thing to get them and then sprawled back on MY bed. Considering he's a 14-pound hippo who both snores and has gas (and yes, I feed him high-quality, unformulated cat food), I was absolutely unhappy as he kept taking up more and more space in my bed . Yesterday I threw his cat bed in the direction of the living room while vacuuming. He landed next to (but not on) a heater. Four hours later I couldn't find my cat. When I finally found him, he was curled up in this bed. I haven't seen him much since then, including last night as I lay in my bed preparing for his eventual (severe) jump and eventual (gas-like) spread. It never happened. He's snug and snug in this bed, which means I'm finally snug and snug in MY for the first time in four years of living together. (And I breathe a lot better now that I don't have cat hair or poop flying around me anymore!) Two very nice things about this bed, apart from being pretty, the inner pillow is easy to remove and looks durable enough, to wash it, although I'll probably keep vacuuming and/or wiping for now. (Tip: Put on a rubber dish mitt and wipe; cat hair will stick to the mitt and leave fur on the pillow.) Because the pillow is removable, this bed can also accommodate a larger (though not longer) cat possibly.
