I'll start with a summary: - I like it, cleans well, better than most some privacy. - Bulky for travel but can be USB charged and most items fit nicely in a box My wife for example would be restless. At the same time, when you're ready to use it, it requires some discipline by keeping stats about you - stats you might not want to share with Philips. Here's what you'll notice as you use it: it teaches you not to press too hard and kindly warns you when you do; lets you spend enough time in all quadrants of the mouth; too much: You shouldn't do that with vibrating toothbrushes. On the other hand, it is buggy and often crashes and disappears from your screen or does not start normally when the toothbrush lights up. This tends to negatively skew the stats, since the part of the app that doesn't exit asks you if you've rinsed your tongue, if you've flossed it. not exactly. In fact, it often fails. It only knows the angle at which the toothbrush is held (up/down/horizontal). If you use it on the part of your mouth that the program expects you to, it will - most of the time - know you're brushing and change the displayed whiteness of your teeth accordingly, not the screen. But even in this case it sometimes fails. For example, if you tilt your head down (allowing plenty of suds to flow out and into the sink), position detection will fail. And if you choose to brush the chewing surface of your back teeth, brushing won't fix it; it looks like the creators didn't bother with this interface at all! Errors like this (common) often cause the software to indicate you haven't cleaned enough. (5 stars) I think the brush works perfectly - at least in the 3 months I've had it. No glitches, no glitches, enough battery. The brushes are great, but I can't comment on the various tasks they are supposed to do (gum care, whitening, etc.). The software assumes it's tracking your usage and I can see that it's trying to push replacements at regular intervals. I haven't owned the brush long enough to know if intervals make sense in terms of bristle wear. PRACTICAL**** (4 STARS) The packaging (case / charger / self-contained pen and brush) is a good travel idea. But the box is bulky and heavy. And only two of the four brushes fit in. A quick look convinces me that they can do better with the next iteration and make room for all the brushes. The weight will be difficult to lose I think. The box with handle, brushes and cord weighs 13 ounces - almost a pound. That is much! However, because you can charge using your laptop's USB cable, you don't need to carry around an extra charger. In my experience, the battery life lasts for three daily brushes for a week (maybe more, but I haven't tried). Overall this is a good product, but overpriced, with some bugs and shortcomings that will be fixed in future versions. The price is almost prohibitive and perhaps a bit overpriced given the shortcomings.
