We have a chair that's in the middle of the room, and thought we would try this instead of putting a side table next to it. It works fine, and does what it says, but the overall idea isn't great as it completely depends on the width of the arm of the chair or couch. Most are too slim for this to be of much use. I'm always concerned about knocking over drinks or bowls. And the pad is not tacky enough to hold a remote in place reliably.Going with a traditional side table instead.
