I work on the assembly line for a large company, so I have to park AWAY from the entrance to work. I wanted something that I can easily keep in my backpack that I take to work every day and bought this item. When I left work tonight it was CASTING, the wind was VERY HARD, but all that got wet (not even wet, just wet really) was the BOTTOM of my pants. I agree with other reviewers a rope to tighten the hood would be MUCH better than just dangling the hood BUT even with a full arm I could just pull it over my face from the front and it even helped cinching the sides of me protect face from the rain because it is a very big hood. It comes in a handy case and I thought it would be difficult to put it back in the case but it isn't. I just rolled it up and put it back. This is a GREAT poncho if you are looking for something cute, affordable, comfortable and effective. I am very happy with mine.
