Not very easy to assemble, took my husband about 20 minutes. Both of our Goldens needed LOTS of treats to get used to them (maybe they were just playing with us to get treats. Who knows). They appear to be very strong and durable. I love how high they are, our bed is very high and it took me a month to find them. The only issue I had was the slight incline of the stairs which made it difficult for our dogs to climb down. We put something on each side for our comfort until the boys get used to it. But otherwise they are amazing.
