Before buying, I read all the reviews about this blanket (all negative at first). Having bought and returned another duvet from a different brand, this was my second best choice for the money I was willing to spend. I will keep these. It looks very nice. I have a full size bed and bought a queen size comforter. It fits well from top to bottom but I wish it was a little longer on the sides. Mattresses and box springs are a bit higher these days, so it's difficult to find a duvet that fits and is still the right size. Washed in my washing machine (which is not big). This blanket is a bit too big for him. But the padding in the duvet didn't clump up (except in one spot, I can live with that) and didn't clump up after the first/only wash. I will consider going to the laundry to have it washed so it can be washed and laundered properly. For those with a large washer/dryer you shouldn't have a problem. When I buy my next one (which I will) I will get a king size. It feels very soft and velvety on the top. At first glance, the bottom of the Sherpa looked too thin for the warmth I was looking for, but I was wrong. I'm usually a "colder" person (especially my legs), so I like to be warm in bed. I have a comforter between my sheet and this comforter, but when I sleep with this comforter, I get so warm that I get hot. I even turned the thermostat down to a lower setting for the night so the heating wouldn't turn on. I'll try taking the middle blanket off and just using the blanket in the near future just to see how it performs. I hope it's light enough for summertime here. Because it's really very convenient. For me, this ceiling is a flaw. If you have cats/dogs this may not be for you. I usually have a house cat. She has very sharp nails (cannot be cut/trimmed). She doesn't kneel if she's lying on the bed. But because her nails are so sharp, even when she gets stuck, the top layer and filling in the comforter fall out, and then little clumps of white filling stick out. My only solution right now is to burn the small "tears" with a lighter. But this makes the soft rough at the tip. I can't speak for those with dogs, but if they're from bigger breads, you might not consider this blanket something they should get. If for a guest, then perfect. Perfect for a college dorm. If you don't mind a few little tufts of inner pouf, that's fine.
