While the color spectrum is perfect for my application — growing aquatic plants — the amount of heat generated by one of these lamps makes me wonder if it's safe to use these things indoors. I mean, they get as hot as yesterday's incandescents and CFLs, not modern LED lights that cycle from cold to warm - these things will BURN you after only being on for 3 hours. I would never recommend them for mounting on surfaces that could be damaged by heat and I would not install them anywhere in my home. As such, I'd give them high marks for color temperature (pleasant, crisp white light) and "connectivity". " and being able to use them with a simple timer but I would give them 1 star because they run too warm for an LED light. The plants I grow with them definitely like the 6500K -Spectrum although I would do so due to the heat they radiate Never use them in an open aquarium!
