I generally love Baby'O skirts. I was happy to see that they are now doing a below-the-knee version. I checked the reviews and it still wasn't enough. Size 8 fits me very well, floor length skirt and panel skirt. I finally bought 14 and 16 and will keep size 14! It's beautiful and elastic, so comfortable. I look forward to wearing it. However, floor length fabric is much nicer in quality. The knee length is solid blue (I chose navy blue), looks like a bit cheap denim blue. What bothered me the most was the HUGE SMELL NAFATE SHAMELS. While I was hanging out my new skirts (long and short) to dry, I asked my husband if they smelled like mothballs and he said yes (and he's not sensitive to smells). I was very concerned as naphthalene is extremely toxic. I've searched the internet and random people have reported denim garments that smell like this. Many possibilities including indigo dye with naphthalene (a component of mothballs). I contacted Baby O and they replied to my message and even checked their inventory. They said the long skirt is yarn dyed and the shorter version is finished dyed after sewing. I ended up doing a few soaks with baking soda and laundry detergent followed by a few washes. Then I hung them outside to dry. Finally got rid of the smell.
