I bought this to add a new dimension to a 50 year old toy submarine by adding diving and common room alarms. Can also be used on a model railway station or depot to signal passengers "Everyone aboard!". Pros: Good build quality, good sound quality, easy to use, relatively small, inexpensive compared to other similar solutions. It may require mechanical know-how or be creative with assembly solutions. Can be a limiting factor in decision making. Even though I set the sound quality to "good", it's not great. It may take 2 or 3 attempts to achieve the desired recording level and output quality. How and where you hold your device while recording has a big impact on the overall sound quality (garbage in, garbage out, as the saying goes). So what is the best sound source and the position of the device to the source will differ drastically. I was very happy with the end result. I held the device as close to the source as possible without actually holding it in my hands. I used the eraser on the end of a pencil to press the record button and made sure to adjust the volume at the source to avoid distortion. The only other limit is the ability of your imagination to put this nifty little device to good use.
