This chess table looks beautiful and durable. Many reviews indicate poor quality, but if you like something, of course you have doubts and find good reviews. And there are. I took a risk The first did everything perfectly, then one of the drawer slides (made out of wood) to make the slide fall out of place. Putting it back together without handwork (or good gluing) was quite difficult. Finally sent it back. The second from Revain has a huge brown mark on the printed chessboard, about 8 inches long. So I gave it back to Revane and got the third one! No problem after assembly this time. I uploaded some photos. The first photo shows a table with two open drawers. The second shows two boxes. The third shows what I put inside as a pillow to avoid scratching the wooden floor. The two-tiered center leg is wide and fairly stable on hard floors, but I think the table should still hold up well on thick and soft carpet. The chessboard itself appears to be laminated. My boys played it and made a lot of dents! The board looks terrible after a game of chess. I recommend anyone expecting children to play on it apply a clear coat to keep marking to a minimum. Despite the issues assembling the product and the fact that I spent a lot of time repacking and sending it back, I give high marks for the beauty and solid construction (once assembled).
