Problem with the mesh strap, best for women

Let me first say that I really liked the watch. It's convenient, I can see the time easily with the help of a transparent crystal, and the little "diamonds" on each digit help me to keep track of the time even without glasses! Adjusting the strap is easy and the clasp works brilliantly. However, a small piece of the watch's metal mesh strap broke and now the sharp metal piece of the strap catches on everything, preventing me from wearing the watch. We bought it in February and now in early September, so just over six months. I checked the SKAGEN website and found that the watch strap warranty has expired. This metal bracelet is screwed on and not as easy to replace as other watches. So it looks like we'll have to pay over $50 for a new strap plus shipping and handling, making repairs almost as expensive as a new watch. So, before us is a conundrum - to replace it with an expensive mesh strap that has no warranty and has already proven unreliable, or just buy a new watch. For something as unique as this mesh band, it appears to be built to last and come with a guarantee.
