Review on POWERTEQ CTS3 Gas Evolution for GM - Advanced Edge Products by James Parker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Early 2007 and older cars require a lot of programming.

He does what he's supposed to do and that's great. I didn't have time to install it and it's the perfect size. It features the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art multi-sensor/tuner touchscreen that displays everything you need to know, or don't need to know. The only issue I had was that on early 2007 and older cars you might have to go under the hood for the backup in order for the Edge to read and save stock files (which I should do). Department, (5) pull and remove fuses (information, radio [if you have non-original radio], radio amplifier. SEO B1, SEO B2), then remove the radio completely, connect the amplifier to the battery (make sure the charger that you have at least 12.6v for it to work) and if you have a remote starter you will need to disconnect the wire coming from the remote starter to the purple wire. Only then can it read the car's inventory files. This means you have to reprogram all your radios and clocks every time you complete the read. I haven't tried it yet because I was just told by support that I had to. I will continue in my next review. I am using this app on a classic 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4X4. I use my truck for daily driving and towing a 7000 lb trailer. I think if you have a truck that is intended for either daily driving or constant towing this would be great as you only have to go through the setup/read process once. Next to. I gave it 4 stars because it's a great programmer. I would give it 5 stars if warned that I just have to use it.

Pros
  • One-year probationary period
Cons
  • Mostly OK, but...
