5/12/18 - I bought 6 LED votive candles and only needed one for the Christmas votive holder I found. Received them very quickly and was very impressed that they looked and felt like a real candle. They didn't feel cheap or plastic. I wasn't too sure about the remote control at first, but since it has a timer, I used it. When candles arrive they have a plastic part where the battery sits. Pull on it and you're ready to use the candle. Turn it on and then you can use the remote control to turn it on, off or by time. There is a timer for 4 hours, 5 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours. When you press the timer button, it will flash to indicate that it has been set. The instructions were very easy to follow. The light you get from them is very warm and cosy. I also added warm light. The light flickers, but not very noticeable. The only problem I had after a few days was that I had 2 candles that needed changing batteries. It doesn't matter since it comes with a set of batteries, but it leads me to believe the batteries won't last that long. I've only had this set for a few days so I'll let you know if the battery life needs an update. In the end I found a use for the remaining 5 candles. They seem useful for adding warm light and creating a nice homey feel. The only thing I don't like so far is the battery life.
